Father's Day 2009

Happy Father's Day to Jake, the most wonderful Daddy anyone could imagine! What a lucky lucky boy Sam is! We celebrated for 2 days at the Pieroni house. On Saturday we had a BBQ honoring all the dads in our lives. Thanks to Grandpa Wayne and Gramma Genie for hosting this wonderful event! Here is Sam with his Dad, Grandpa and friend Jon at the BBQ. All the Dads were good sports wearing their crowns and beads for the entire event!

Since there is no picture of Sam and his Grandpa Walrus from this BBQ I found one with the two of them. Sam doing his usual favorite with Grandpa Walrus...

On Sunday we celebrated by going to Palos Verdes for a picnic and to try to watch Uncle Aaron finish his long paddle from Catalina to Palos Verdes. Sadly we were too late to see him come in but Uncle Aaron did great!!

Sam and Daddy in the car on the way to Founders Park for our picnic. It was a beautiful day and such a wonderful time to celebrate Jake!

Enjoying time at the park with Daddy! Jerry was here as well, barking all the time as usual. Sorry no shots of Jerry!

We got a video camera which we brought with us on Father's Day. We will spare you the endless footage we have been taking of Sam!

This picture is not from Father's Day but is one of my favorites of Jake and Sam! My two wonderful boys!!

Trouble!

Sam always keeps us on our toes. His new found mobility has left him so pleased with all he can do!

Removing the foam that Daddy put on to protect him from the metal step into the kitchen. Jake had just put this on minutes before Sam got a hold of it!

Fascinated with beer bottles. Always grabbing and trying to get his mouth on the opening. No we have not given Sam any beer! Or at least none that I am aware of :)

Nothing better than electronics. When he learned to combat crawl, this was his favorite location. It is since been covered by plexiglass which he is working hard on opening!

And his most recent accomplishment, standing up in his crib!! Yesterday after his nap, I was taking too long to come and get him so he took matters into his own hands!!

Revenge.

Since Jake posted that lovely entry making fun of the Nursery Water I bought, I had to put this shot on there. I took Sam to a tea that my Mom's ladies group was having. He had a great time. I had to take advantage since I don't know how much longer Jake will let me take his son to a tea. He looked so cute in this hat!!

For my Mom and Poor Jerry!!

Jake and Sam's newest favorite activity together is to water the lawn. Jake hopes this is getting Sam ready early for his years of yard work in the future. They picked a flower for me which was very sweet. Unfortunately Sam seemed to think it was very tastey as well!!

Poor Jerry. Maybe he shouldn't always be lurking so close. Sam spilled rice cereal on his head during one of his first times eating solids. For those curious, Jerry is still better than expected with Sam. We still think it was his time at doggie rehab (aka The Rowe house) while Sam was being born.

Marne's First Official Mother's Day

I figured I should get Mother's Day on here before Father's Day happens!
Thank you to Jake for making my first Mother's Day so wonderful. We spent the day at the beach. Sam's first time there. He seemed to love it. Although his Sun Hut didn't work as hoped and the water was freezing. A good time was had by all.

We then went to my parents house to celebrate with Gramma and Grandpa as well with a fantastic Greek feast prepared by the men!

Just arriving at the beach. Not quite sure how Sam feels about this. He was covered in sunscreen since he one of the palest babies ever!

Going for a dip with Dad for the first time ever!!

Dad so proud that his boy went "swimming". Sam enjoyed it even if he doesn't show it in this picture!

Sam with him Mom and Gramma!
